  2018年9月12日,由策展人王岩策划的展览《妄念》将在英国伦敦萨奇美术馆举行,本次展览由中国美术学院跨媒体艺术学院、萨奇美术馆和START艺术博览会主办,得到了中国驻英国大使馆文化处的大力支持。展览呈现了十位/组中国青年艺术家(朱玺、段官来、王震宇、吴穹&汪洋、王志鹏、孙晓宇、宋戈文、傅冬霆、邵睿璐)全新创作的十余件绘画、装置及影像作品,不仅融合东方传统哲思与西方当代文化视野,更集中呈现了中国青年艺术家对社会当下的回应、反思与预测。折叠现实与精神世界,领观者游走其中,同时探寻虚妄与执念、身份与权利、政治与信仰等议题。作为一次实践,“妄念”不矫准任何偏离,也肯定非常规的生命体验,挖掘并还原隐含于艺术创作中不可视的信息和精神图景,重新思考艺术的力量。

  展览启幕之前,艺术网将陆续刊发十位/组参展艺术家的对话内容,以期更真实地呈现他们的所思所为。

Q&A

  Q:《生命轨迹》这件作品的创作契机是什么?

  What motivated you to create Life Trajectory?

  A:《生命轨迹》创作契机是在高中学习生物的时候就埋下了的种子,每一个细胞都井然有序的在生活,他们是否会思考?他们为什么存在?他们是在为我工作么?他们和我又是什么关系?他们是我么?(我总觉得自己不太像是他们的集合)对生命本身的一系列问题就开始深深的吸引我。

  I wanted to create it when I was studying biology in high school. Every cell lives an orderly life. Do they think? Why do they exist? Are they working for me? What's the relationship between them and me? Are they me? (I always felt less like a collection of them)

  对生命的问题我还有很多很多。植物会思考问题么?失去某种感官的人看出来的世界是什么样的?如何向一种外星生物介绍人?等等...我想对这些问题的思考会出现在我以后的作品中。

  There are so many questions about life. Do plants think? What does the world look like to someone who has lost some sense? How to introduce humans to an alien creature? Etc. The meditation of these questions will appear in my future works.

  如果要我自己比喻的话,就像是一个孩子在沙滩上看到了贝壳,便忘却了一切(为什么来到沙滩?明天该做什么?什么时候走?都变得不再重要。)重要的只有这一刻在欣赏生命的美中忘乎所以。

  If I could use a metaphor, it would be like a child who saw a shell on the beach and forgot everything (Why come to the beach? What should I do tomorrow? When should I go? These questions don't matter anymore.) The only thing that matters is appreciating the beauty of life in this moment.

  Q:在创作中遇到哪些困难?

  What are the difficulties in creating?

  A:困难当然会有,比如在做《屠宰、手术与塑像》时就花了我不少钱,那些钱可是我画了两个月的装饰画挣的钱,在创作中最大的困难就是如何解决生活问题以至于有一段长长的空闲时间可以让我安安静静的投入创作,并且自己还能支付起制作装置和我喜欢的现场作品创作所产生的费用,有些时候那些东西确实不便宜(笑)。

  Of course there will be difficulties, for example, the Slaughtering, Surgery and Statue cost me a lot of money, that’s two months’ income of decorative painting. The biggest difficulty during the creation is how to solve the livelihood problem of a long idle time, so I can focused on creation and also can bear expenses of installations and fees incurred of on-site works, sometimes these stuff are not so cheap (laughs).

  Q:是否可以分别介绍一下这个系列的三部分作品?他们之间的关系又是如何?

  Can you introduce the three parts of the series respectively? What about their relationship?

  A:第一部分:最先有的是一张绘画,因为一次意外,脑部受了伤,看到自己的脑部CT,产生了很大的好奇,这个东西就是维系我“思维”的容器,“我思故我在”,到底是我在思考?还是他?

  Part one: there was a painting in the first place. My brain was injured in an accident, and I was very curious when I saw my brain CT. This is the container of my "thinking". I think, therefore I am. Am I or the brain thinking?

  之后“生命痕迹”这个线索便生发出了这一系列的作品。

  After that, the clue of “Traces of Life” gave rise to this series of works.

  第二部分:这是一件现场作品的记录,出于对“生命痕迹”的强烈好奇,我不满足于仅仅是远远的观望,渴望进到生命的外在表现——躯体的内部去看看,便生发出了这一场关于牛的“手术”。

  Part two: this is a record of on-site works. Out of a strong curiosity about the "Traces of Life", I am not satisfied with just watching from a distance, but eager to enter and watch the external expression of life -- the inner body, which gave birth to this "operation" about cattle.

  第三部分:这系列最新的一件也是一张绘画,被巨蛇缠绕的拉奥孔,如今被“电线”所缠绕。这是作者源于对“巨蛇”、“锁链”、“电线”、“神经元”这几种线状物体的思考,电线如今遍布在我们生活的每一处,你也被“电线”内的数据和信息所包裹和缠绕。

  Part three: the latest creation of the series is also a drawing of the Laocoon, which is winded by python and is now winded by "wires." This is coming from the author’s thinking about several linear objects, such as "python ", "chain", "wire" and "neuron". Wires are everywhere in our lives today, and you are wrapped and winded by data and information within the wires.

  让洪荒且无序的生命痕迹与基于人类逻辑所建立起来的测量做对话,人是否用自己建立的有序逻辑发现了无序生命的内在密码?有序、无序、可控、失控。

  To create a conversation between the primordial and disorderly traces of life and the measurements built upon human logic. Did people discover the inner code of the disordered life with their own ordered logic? They are order, disorder, control and out of control.

  Q:从先前的行为表演作品,到最近的架上创作,再到将来对于建筑的学习,如何把这一系列媒介有机的结合与运用?

  How to combine and apply a series of media, from previous performance works to the latest painting to the learning of architecture in the future?

  A:实话我只能说获得在各种媒介间穿梭的一点点小经验而已,还没法做到把各个媒介游刃有余的结合起来。在我看来,不管是绘画还是装置、现场作品或者是精神性的建筑空间都是对原有信息的拆解,原有的图像、神话故事、文化符号、生活空间等等都拆解成一个个零碎的小片段,审视它(审视是一个重要的过程)找到这些碎片中间某些隐秘的、还未被发现的联系,展开、扩大。用自己新的方式将他们组织起来。重构一个新的属于你的体系。在拆解这些东西的时候,我有野心重构一个庞大的属于我的精神空间,它在一点点生长中,我不知道它什么时候会成熟,它成熟的时候应该会告诉我的,而我的工作便是它告诉我它成熟了想见人了的时候,把它做出来而已(笑)。

  To be honest, I have merely gained a little experience in moving between various media, but I can't combine them well. In my opinion, Paintings, installations, on-site works and spiritual architectural space are the disassembling of the original information. The original images, myths, cultural symbols, living space and so on, are disassembled into fragments. Inspect (which is an important process), find, expand and develop the hidden and undiscovered connections among the fragments. Organize them in your new way and reconstruct your own newly system. In the process of dismantling, I am ambitious to reconstruct a growing enormous spiritual space that belongs to me. I don't know the time when it's mature, it's supposed to tell me when, and my job is to make it when it tell me it's mature and it wants to meet people.

  Q:不同的作品与媒介作品中,总是会出现“神话”,为什么?

  Why are there always “myths” in different works and media works?

  A:“神话”的魅力就像谜题的魅力一样,短小精悍,又充满了能量,一个简单的谜题暗示出了一大片可以游走的精神空间。他们(神话和谜题)就像精神世界的“苏州园林”,会在不经意间处处让你发现惊喜。关于这个问题我也只考虑到了这一步,这确实是我很大的兴趣点,在之后的创作过程中,我会继续审视这个问题的。

  The charm of “myth” is like the charm of puzzle, short and concise, and full of energy. A simple puzzle implies a large wandering spiritual space. Myths and puzzles are like the spiritual world of “Suzhou garden”, and they will surprise you everywhere inadvertently. I have only considered up to the point about this issue, which is really my great interest on. I will continue to inspect this issue during the later creation process.
