 度母,全称圣救度佛母,为观世音菩萨所化现之身,故亦称多罗尊观音、多罗观世音。乃是引度三界众生,及声闻、圆觉之罗汉,得究竟佛陀解脱果位之菩萨果位之菩萨,度母的信仰在古印度时代就非常的流行,包括从那烂陀大学遗迹所出土的佛菩萨像中,有很多就是度母像,现在的菩提伽耶大觉塔上,还是保留雕刻着度母像。在汉传佛教中,度母被视为观世音菩萨的其中一尊,或从观世音菩萨目光所化现的女性菩萨,而称为“多罗观自在菩萨”或独称“多罗菩萨”。

In Han Buddhism, Tara is regarded as one of Guanyin Bodhisattva, or a female Bodhisattva reflected from the eyes of Guanyin Bodhisattva, and is called "Duoluo Guanyu Bodhisattva" or "Duoluo Bodhisattva" alone.

大唐舍利宝塔座上度母,为琉璃材质内含舍利,舍利子是佛教高僧死后所遗留的头发、骨等在火化后所产生的结晶体,又称坚固子。藏品整体非常端庄大气珍贵,头戴五叶宝冠,代表五方五智,发髻高盘,发缕丝丝可见,耳后两侧细长发束从双肩垂落,配圆形耳珰。面庞方圆,高鼻薄唇,纤眉细目,静望前方,清丽俊秀又不失庄严肃穆。袒上身,颈挂宝珠璎珞,手、足配钏环。帔帛绕背搭于双肩,自然下垂,双手生莲花绕臂而上,绽放肩头。左手拇指与无名指相捻,结说法印,右手展开掌心向外,施与愿印,指尖姿态鲜活优美,栩栩如生。腰身纤细,富于女性柔美风韵。下身薄裙贴体,裙褶写实自然,富有质感。左腿横盘,右腿下垂,踩一朵盛开莲花,舒坐于仰覆莲座上,莲瓣饱满,精美华丽,藏品规整大方难得一见的珍品。
