 度母，全称圣救度佛母，为观世音菩萨所化现之身，故亦称多罗尊观音、多罗观世音。乃是引度三界众生，及声闻、圆觉之罗汉，得究竟佛陀解脱果位之菩萨果位之菩萨，度母的信仰在古印度时代就非常的流行，包括从那烂陀大学遗迹所出土的佛菩萨像中，有很多就是度母像，现在的菩提伽耶大觉塔上，还是保留雕刻着度母像。在汉传佛教中，度母被视为观世音菩萨的其中一尊，或从观世音菩萨目光所化现的女性菩萨，而称为“多罗观自在菩萨”或独称“多罗菩萨”。

大唐舍利宝塔座上度母，为琉璃材质内含舍利，舍利子是佛教高僧死后所遗留的头发、骨等在火化后所产生的结晶体，又称坚固子。藏品整体非常端庄大气珍贵，头戴五叶宝冠，代表五方五智，发髻高盘，发缕丝丝可见，耳后两侧细长发束从双肩垂落，配圆形耳珰。面庞方圆，高鼻薄唇，纤眉细目，静望前方，清丽俊秀又不失庄严肃穆。袒上身，颈挂宝珠璎珞，手、足配钏环。帔帛绕背搭于双肩，自然下垂，双手生莲花绕臂而上，绽放肩头。左手拇指与无名指相捻，结说法印，右手展开掌心向外，施与愿印，指尖姿态鲜活优美，栩栩如生。腰身纤细，富于女性柔美风韵。下身薄裙贴体，裙褶写实自然，富有质感。左腿横盘，右腿下垂，踩一朵盛开莲花，舒坐于仰覆莲座上，莲瓣饱满，精美华丽，藏品规整大方难得一见的珍品。
