11月13日上午9时30分，沈阳师范大学国家艺术基金项目“东方神韵·粉墨中国”——中国戏曲脸谱艺术国际巡展在美国加州州立大学萨克拉门托分校隆重开幕。加州州立大学萨克拉门托分校国际事务副校长保罗·霍夫曼（Paul Hofmann）先生、沈阳师范大学戏剧艺术学院院长张威女士、加州州立大学萨克拉门托分校师生代表及美国当地媒体记者出席开幕仪式。

At 9:30 AM on November 13th, China National Arts Fund program of Shenyang Normal University, “Oriental Spirit of Chinese Opera ” - International Tour of Chinese Opera Facial Makeup Art Exhibition was grandly opened at California State University, Sacramento. Dr. Paul Hofmann, Associate Vice President for International Affairs, Sacramento State. Mrs. Wei Zhang, dean of School of Drama and Arts , Shenyang Normal University, representatives of teachers and students of Sacramento State, as well as local American media reporters attended the opening ceremony.

开幕式上，张威女士作为嘉宾致辞。她为到场来宾简要介绍了本项目开展情况及本次巡展的具体内容。她说，此项目为贯彻落实习近平总书记在“加强中外人文交流，推进国际传播能力建设，讲好中国故事，展现真实、立体、全面的中国”的要求，全面展示中国戏曲脸谱艺术的特点与价值，更好地传承、创新、传播中华优秀传统文化，全面推进中美文化交流合作。希望通过本次巡展，能够使更多的美国朋友深入了解中国、深刻感受中国优秀传统文化的魅力。

At the opening ceremony, Mrs. Wei Zhang delivered a speech as guest. She briefly introduced the development of program and the specific content of this tour to all the attendees. She said, this program was a comprehensive demonstration of the characteristic and value of Chinese opera mask art, it would better inherit, innovate, spread excellent Chinese traditional culture, and promote Sino-US cultural exchange and cooperation in all aspects, in order to implement the requirement of General Secretary Xi, "strengthen Chinese and foreign cultural exchange, promote the building of international communication capacity, tell a good Chinese story, show a real, solid and comprehensive China". She hoped that through this tour, more American friends could deeply understand China and appreciate the charm of excellent Chinese traditional culture.

加州州立大学萨克拉门托分校国际事务副校长保罗·霍夫曼（Paul Hofmann）先生在致辞中，对沈阳师范大学巡展团表示热烈的欢迎，对本次巡展展示的中国戏曲脸谱艺术的神韵感到惊叹。他说，本次巡展，为美国师生提供了近距离了解中国戏曲脸谱艺术的机会，更为师生了解中国提供了一次难得的契机。

In the speech of President of California State University, Sacramento, Dr. Paul Hofmann expressed warm welcome to the tour group of Shenyang Normal University and his admiration at the spirit of Chinese opera mask art. He said, this tour not only provided an opportunity for American teachers and students to take a close look at Chinese opera mask art, but also a rare chance to understand China.

开幕式结束后，中美双方专家和师生围绕本次中国戏曲脸谱艺术巡展以及双方交流合作进行了深入研讨。张威女士等专家与美国师生热烈地交流互动，耐心细致地解答了美国师生围绕中国戏曲脸谱艺术的历史、发展现状、文化意义、制作技术技巧等提出的问题。

After the opening ceremony, Chinese and American experts, teachers and students conducted an in-depth discussion on this Chinese opera mask art tour and the exchange and cooperation between two sides. Mrs. Wei Zhang and other experts warmly communicated and interacted with American teachers and students, patiently and meticulously answered their questions of history, development status, cultural significance and technical skill of Chinese opera mask art.

巡展过程中，众多的美国观众闻讯而来，有的在英文视频前认真观看讲解，了解中国脸谱的“前世今生”，感受着中华民族渊远流长、生生不息的文化精神的熏陶；有的在宣纸脱胎脸谱前驻足，认真品味宣纸技术与脸谱艺术完美融合的现代工匠精神；有的兴致勃勃地欣赏脸谱艺术衍生的书签、信封、挂件、明信片等文创产品；有的积极参与，在专家指导下亲身体验制作脸谱的快乐，洋溢着开心的笑容；还有的则早早坐到专题讲座现场，围绕自己感兴趣的话题与中国专家进行热烈的交流互动……巡展现场气氛热烈，观众们兴致盎然，无不为中国脸谱艺术的艺术魅力所折服，历久弥新的中华优秀传统文化令美国观众受到强烈的心灵震撼。

During the exhibition, many American especially came to pay a visit. Some of them meticulously watched English introduction video, learnt the history and present status of Chinese opera facial makeup, and felt the influence of everlasting and dynamic Chinese culture. Some stop by the rice paper-bodiless opera mask, seriously taste the modern craftsmanship spirit of perfect combination of rice paper technology and Chinese opera mask art. Some enjoy the cultural and creative products derived from Chinese opera mask art, such as bookmarks, envelopes, pendants, postcards, etc. Some happily experienced how to make an opera mask under the guidance of experts. And others attended the special lecture very early and had an active communication with Chinese experts on their interested topics. The present atmosphere of exhibition was very warm. All the visitors were full of enthusiasm, impressed by the artistic charm of Chinese opera mask art. The ever-shining Chinese excellent traditional culture strongly shocked these American visitors.

展出作品

本次巡展共包括《追根溯源·中国脸谱的前世今生》《大国工匠·宣纸脱胎脸谱展》《雅韵中国·脸谱文创产品展》《遇见戏曲·中国戏曲体验之旅》《春风化雨·走进中国戏曲》等五个板块。《追根溯源·中国脸谱的前世今生》，以英文视频的形式，对中国戏曲脸谱艺术进行详细介绍；《大国工匠·宣纸脱胎脸谱展》，向观者展示中国首创的宣纸脱胎立体浮雕脸谱；《雅韵中国·脸谱文创产品展》，将以戏曲脸谱元素为创作灵感和素材而制作衍生出的精美文创产品展示给参观者；《遇见戏曲·中国戏曲体验之旅》，由专家指导参观者现场学习勾画、制作脸谱，学习戏曲表演程式等，亲身体验中国戏曲的独特魅力，感受中华优秀传统文化的强大生命力；《春风化雨·走进中国戏曲》，举办中国戏曲脸谱艺术专题讲座，中美双方专家学者和观众进行研讨交流，通过案例、图片、视频等形式，共同分享中华优秀传统文化的旺盛生命力和时代精神。

This exhibition tour included 5 sections: “Trace back to Origin - History and Current Status of Chinese Opera Mask”, which gave a detailed introduction of Chinese opera mask art in the form of English video; “Chinese Craftsman - Rice Paper-Bodiless Opera Mask", which showed visitors rice paper-bodiless three-dimensional relief opera mask first created by China; "Charming China – Opera Mask Cultural and Creative Products", which presented visitors delicate products derived from inspiration and material of opera mask elements; "Meet Chinese Opera - Chinese Opera Experiencing Tour", in which experts taught visitors to learn drawing and making opera masks, as well as opera performance, to let them experience the unique charm of Chinese opera in person, and feel vitality of Chinese excellent traditional culture; "Spread Gentle Influence - Walk into Chinese Opera”, which held a special lecture on Chinese opera mask art, Chinese and American experts and scholars discussed with attendees, sharing the vitality and spirit of Chinese excellent traditional culture through case, picture and video.

本次巡展为期一个月，从11月14日开幕，到12月15日结束。将分别在加州州立大学萨克拉门托分校、美国华盛顿雪兰多大学、美国新泽西州新泽西城市大学和美国纽约市25学区163小学等四个城市的四所大学和小学巡回展出。

The tour will last for one month, starting from November 14th and ending on December 15. It will be exhibited at 4 universities and primary schools in 4 cities, California State University, Sacramento, Virginia Shenandoah University, New Jersey City University and New York City P.S. 163 Elementary School.

据了解，沈阳师范大学戏剧艺术学院“东方神韵·粉墨中国”——中国戏曲脸谱艺术国际巡展，是中国文化部批准的国家艺术基金项目2019年度传播交流推广资助项目。巡展集音频、视频、图片、实物、交流研讨、专家现授指导、观众现场制作等多种传播手段于一体，达到了全方位、立体式的传播效果。本次巡展，在国家艺术基金的支持下，沈阳师范大学成功推动了中国戏曲脸谱艺术走出国门，走向世界，使美国观众现场感受到了中国戏曲脸谱艺术的无穷魅力和强大生命力。本次巡展以脸谱艺术为载体和纽带，拉近了中美两国人民的距离，增进了双方的了解，为推动中美文化艺术交流、增进两国友谊提供了有益的启示和参考。

It is understood that “Oriental Spirit of Chinese Opera Mask” - International Tour of Chinese Opera Mask Art of Drama Art College,  Shenyang Normal University, is a exchange promotion proprom in 2019, funded by China National Arts Fund and approved by China Ministry of Culture. The exhibition includes audio, video, picture, physical object, exchange seminar, expert guidance, visitor involvement and other means of communication, achieving an all-round, three-dimensional communication effect. With the support of China National Arts Fund, Shenyang Normal University successfully promoted Chinese opera mask art to go global, which made American visitors feel the everlasting charm and powerful vitality of Chinese opera mask art. This tour used opera mask art as a carrier and a link to bring closer Chinese and American people, enhanced mutual understanding, and provided useful enlightenment and reference for promoting Sino-US cultural and artistic exchange as well as developing friendship between two countries.
