　　Today marks the Lunar New Year for Chinese communities in Canada and around the world.

　　Friends and families will come together to celebrate the Spring Festival, honour traditions, and welcome the Year of the Rat, a symbol of wealth, energy, and intelligence.

　　This is a time to celebrate new beginnings and reflect on our goals for the coming year.

　　Here in Canada, it’s a chance to recognize the many contributions Chinese Canadians have made, and continue to make, to our country.

　　From one generation to the next, Chinese Canadians have helped make Canada strong, inclusive and prosperous. And that’s as true today as ever.
